The intensity and dynamic commitment of the Babangida Administration to the ECOWAS stand is a living testimony to Nigeria’s determination to make all the countries of the West African sub-region our partners in progress. Today, overwhelming empirical evidence shows that none of the countries in West Africa and indeed Africa, can on its own easily overcome many of our collective economic, political and socio-cultural deprivations. Consequently, it has become imperative that we should cooperate at various levels, not only to identify the problems of our general underdevelopment but equally important, to seek collective and lasting solutions.
